Overview

A celebration of the farm-to-table movement, this is an introduction to fresh food and healthy lifestyles for young readers

Eating your vegetables has never been so fun! When Allie goes out to pick vegetables in the garden, she finds all kinds of surprising critters hiding there: an eggplant crow in the cornfield, a potato rabbit sniffing the lettuce and more. But with so many curious creatures around, will Allie's veggies make it home for supper?

Reviews

"Hungry Henry makes healthy foods fun with a sweet, simple story and beautifully stylized artwork that engages and captivates young readers. This imaginative book was an instant favorite with my toddler. " —Anne Myer, teacheatlove.com

"[S]triking mixed-media artwork brings together three kinds of illustrations on the same page: a pen-and-ink cartoon Allie and her basket, photographs of fresh, delicious vegetables (corn, tomatoes, lettuce, and more), and expressive animals cleverly carved from vegetables . . . Toddlers will enjoy identifying the healthy vegetables—and they may even be stirred to eat them when they appear at dinnertime." —Kirkus Reviews STARRED Review
